Brief history
Ramon Llull (city of Mallorca, 1232/1233 - 1315/1316) was a Majorcan writer, philosopher, mystic, theologist, teacher and missionary of the 13th century. His written work is the most extended one produced by a medieval author, he wrote it up in Catalan, Occitan, Latin and Arabic. He is considered the first relevant literary author in Catalan and the first medieval author in using a Romance language to transmit philosophical, theological and mystical knowledge. He was also the first one in writing moral novels and one of the first figures who promoted technical and scientifical propagation.
